Instructions for the Guild Name Tag. "Friendship" Block
Any combination of red, navy or gold with a muslin center, 4 squares 1 1/2" from one of the colors (for the corners). Cut one square from muslin for the center. Cut 2 squares 1 7/8" from each color (these will form the star). These squares need to be cut in half to form the triangles. To do this place the 2 squares (from each color) 1 7/8" face to face, then draw from corner to corner to create cutting line. Draw another line 1/4" will be your sewing line. Stitch on the sewing lines and then cut down the middle repeat for the other two squares. Sign your name in the center square with permanent ink and press. Layer thin batting. and back, right sides together. Stitch 1/4" around block leaving opening to turn. Turn press and stitch opening. You may quilt your name tag if you wish but it is your Friendship Star.
