Mark Your Spools

"Use nail polish to mark the spot on a thread spool where the cut that holds the thread tail is located. You can then see the slot easily to thread the tail back!"

Judy,  Hockley, TX

Tangle-Free Binding

"To keep my binding from falling on the floor as I am sewing it on, I put it in a plastic grocery bag. I pull one handle of the bag through the other and then slip the loop on my right arm.  The bag is light weight and now I don't step on the binding strip."

Mary,  Phoenix AZ

Idea's from Capital Quilters Guild

"Before you start to quilt, thread as many needles on the thread as you feel you will need.  You can slide the thread and needle off as you need them.  This way you will have all of your needles threaded and save you from tangling  threads and losing needles. "

Lorraine St  Pierre. St Petersburg, FL

To estimate length of bias that can be cut from a square:
1.  Square width x square length = area of square
2.  Area of the square divided by width of bias = length of bias strip
